Is Anal Douching Safe?

I want to try anal play, and I was thinking of doing an anal douche before having backdoor action, but I have concerns about its safety. Is anal douching safe?

Anal douching is a common practice many people do before or after anal play. It is a way to cleanse the rectal area from any residual fecal matter and make things safer and more comfortable before anal sex. Anal douching is a safe procedure; if done correctly, there is very little chance of hurting yourself.

Here are the main things to keep in mind when anal douching:

• Avoid douching too often – limit anal douching twice or thrice a week or less.
• Use safe douching equipment – a soft-tipped nozzle, an anal douche bulb, and even a round-tipped bottle can do the trick, if you remember to go slow and use plenty of lube to make things go smoothly.
• Avoid using too much liquid – when doing an anal douche, the liquid should only reach and rinse the rectum, and the water in the anal douche bulb or a small water bottle is enough.
• Avoid using warm or hot liquid - Please note that the water or solution you use should be lukewarm (on the colder side), as the mucous layer in the anus is very temperature-sensitive, so colder is always better.
• Always use proper, clean equipment – ensure you are constantly using clean douching equipment; otherwise, you risk infection.
