Dominant and Submissive Relationships: The Sexual Aspect

by Kate Miller on Jan 08 2026
The Dominant and submissive, or D/s, relationship has become more and more attractive to many, as more adventurous people are finding inspiration from the D/s portrayals in popular culture. We have delved deeper into the dynamics of the D/s relationships, and we’ve discussed this at length with our experts, including sex therapists and psychologists; here, we will discuss a part of the sexual aspect of a D/s relationship. Before we go into juicy details, we’ll also define what a D/s relationship is and what it is not a D/s relationship. Defining a D/s Relationship At its core, a D/s relationship is one in which one partner takes a leading or dominant role, while the other assumes a more supportive or submissive role. We must be clear that these roles are not fixed in every way, nor do they define every aspect of an individual’s life. Instead, there is an intricate power dynamic in a Dom/sub or D/s relationship that manifests differently in every relationship. Some individuals may only partake in a D/s relationship when it comes to sex, while other couples may be more involved and have their personal lives defined by the D/s dynamic. In contrast, some couples may even live a D/s lifestyle 24/7. It all comes down to individual agreements and boundaries. Here we come to the keys to a functional, fulfilling D/s relationship, which are consent, trust, and mutual agreement. Myths & Truths about D/s Relationships We must cover the common misconceptions about the D/s relationships, as many people have a completely wrong understanding of D/s relationships. Here are the most common myths and actual truths about D/s relationships: Myth: A D/s relationship is abusive. There is no abuse in a genuine D/s relationship, as it should be based on trust, mutual agreement, and teamwork. For one person to dominate, the other should willingly submit, which is the opposite of forceful oppression and abusive relationships. Myth - The submissive is the weaker partner. The opposite is true: it takes a lot of confidence and inner strength to put yourself in a supportive or submissive role in the relationship. We must note that, when it comes to personal relationships, many highly successful leaders and individuals in high-power positions take on a submissive role. Myth - The Dominant partner is selfish. This is the third myth that we’ll bust here, as in a genuine D/s relationship, the Dominant and submissive partners work together towards a mutually pleasurable relationship. The Dominant partner should be sensitive, empathetic, take their role seriously, and not be domineering. There are key differences between being dominant and being domineering, as one relates to a mutually consensual relationship, while the other has no place in a healthy relationship. When it comes to sex, some D/s couples may engage in kinkier sex, while others may not be at all involved in kink, besides practicing a D/s relationship. We must note that kinky sex and D/s relationships are not synonymous. However, we’ll not go this way here; instead, we’ll discuss how a D/s relationship is related to BDSM scenes, as D/s is an integral part of this practice. D/s Relationships, Kink & BDSM The BDSM acronym contains D/s in it, which is why we’ll now turn our attention to the sexual, kinky aspect of a D/s relationship. Before we continue, we must note that there is no rule requiring any D/s couple to engage in such practices; it comes down to personal preferences. Still, almost all kinky scenarios require the D/s power dynamics, which is why we say that D/s is an integral part of BDSM. Here are some examples of D/s experiences: Classic bondage – to engage in a bondage activity requires a tremendous amount of trust, which D/s couples already share. The Dominant partner is the master who ties up their submissive partner, using chains, ropes, handcuffs, or other bondage implements. What follows may be sexy teasing with sensory implements like a tickler or a feather, impact implements like a crop, flogger, or a whip, or some other form of sexy play, like wax play, or even sexual punishment, all at the discretion of the Dominant partner. Master/pet relationship – in this type of experience, the Dominant partner is the pet-owner or the master, while the submissive partner is the pet. Such games may involve role play with sexy animal masks like dog masks, cat masks, bunny masks, complete sexy costumes, or even sex toys like tail butt plugs. Dom/brat scene – in this BDSM experience, the submissive partner purposefully disobeys the commands of their Dominant partner so they can receive punishments. Some of the more popular and effective punishments that couples engage in are using a paddle, using a mouth gag, adding nipple clamps, blindfolding, tickling, orgasm denial with a chastity belt/cock cage, or forced orgasms with a powerful vibrator, a vibrating wand, or another vibrating toy. Caretaking experience – in such an experience, the Dominant partner takes care of the submissive partner. It may involve feeding or giving a drink to the sub, giving them a massage, or any other emotionally and physically supportive activity. We must note that aftercare, which is an integral part of any BDSM scene, is not a caretaking scene, as all BDSM activities should end with sufficient aftercare. We have a complete guide on BDSM aftercare, where you can learn much more about this. These are just some of the BDMS scenes and experiences a D/s couple may engage in, but there are so many other possibilities. However, as you can see, some of the scenes/experiences involve some pain, which is why I refer you to our guide to impact play. It should be clear that the D/s relationship is NOT violent or focused on pain. Instead, the pain element of some of the BDSM experiences, like using a paddle, a flogger, or a whip, only heightens the experience and strengthens the power dynamic between the partners. Still, some D/s couples choose to focus their attention on other forms of BDSM activities that include pain-free role-play or some sensory play. We should be clear, it all comes down to personal preferences and consent, as the keys to a pleasurable BDSM scene are safe, sane, and consensual, with trust being the key to a successful D/s relationship. The Bottom Line Before we let you go, we need to state that being in a D/s relationship can be a transformative experience that benefits all aspects of your life. However, you should not get involved in such a relationship or any BDSM scene if you don’t feel comfortable with our partner. It is why we’ll conclude this post with the advice to be open with your partner and clearly state your desires and wants you’d like to explore. A healthy D/s relationship stands on trust, open communication, and respect, but also on safety and an open mind. Learn More With Our BDSM Sex Toy Guides: How to Choose BDSM Restraints? Guide to Using Sex Furniture

by Kate Miller on Jan 08 2026
The bed is not the only place where you can get hot and heavy with your partner. In fact, some of the best places to have sex are not the bedroom at all, as you can use different sex furniture items to enhance and improve your sex life, enjoy countless new positions, and add a whole new dimension to sex. Thus, today, we will discuss the particulars of how to use sex furniture and how to enjoy the many benefits of adding different sex furniture items to your home. What Is Sex Furniture? Sex furniture is usually used to refer to different furniture items that are designed to aid in positioning during sex, as well as allowing you to experience more sensual, enhanced pleasure. We can list some of the different sex furniture items, and these include sex pillows, sex stools, sex benches, bondage boards, and similar items. While using some of these is intuitive, read on as we’ll describe how to use sex furniture for improved lovemaking and to allow you to explore exciting sex positions. How to Use Sex Furniture There are several different models of sex furniture items that you can use, and we’ve prepared guides on each of these. Please note that we only share general guidelines, and you should use your imagination and let your instincts drive you toward heightened pleasure. You can also combine your sex furniture with sex toys and enjoy a whole new level of pleasure. Before we dive into this, we want to invite you to check out our guide on the types of sex furniture you can find in our sex toy store. Sex Pillows A sex pillow is one of the most versatile, comfortable, and accessible sex furniture designs you can get. The most usable model is, of course, the wedge-shaped sex pillow that is made for support and more comfortable positioning of your and your partner’s bodies during sex. Using a sex pillow is effortless, as you only need to place the pillow on the bed (or floor, if that is your preference) and position your body on the pillow, getting comfortable. Sex Pillow Positions Here are some positions you can try to do with a sex pillow: Improved Missionary – use the wedge pillow under your partner’s back to raise her hips and get a better angle of penetration. Also, you can add another wedge under the head to cradle the woman’s body within an even more comfortable position. Rodeo Cowgirl – use the wedge sex pillow to position the man’s body at a slight angle, and the woman can use it to support her knees as she rides him. If the man does not want extra support, the woman can use two smaller wedge pillows that can help with better control and comfort on the knees. Standing/Edge sex – this position is very comfortable. A wedge-shaped sex pillow can make it even better, and you only need to position the wedge to raise her hips for better penetration and targeted G-spot stimulation. From Behind – use a wedge pillow to position the woman’s body and take the weight from her knees while still retaining full access to her from behind. The pose allows access from the rear, which is great for deeper penetration and for G-spot stimulation. Plowing from Above – this sex pose includes two wedge pillows that place your partner’s body in a comfortable position that allows you better access to her G-spot and her clitoris while still allowing deep penetration. Better Oral – a sex pillow is also the perfect support to position your partner’s body for better access during oral sex. It is a good pose for fellatio but is also very comfortable for cunnilingus. Shop All Sex Pillows ===COLLECTION=== Sex Chaise The sex chaise, also known as a lounge chair or sex bench, is an elegant yet rather large piece of furniture that was designed for more comfortable sex positions. It is because the sex lounge comes with sleek curves that are ergonomic and follow the body’s natural curves. It allows you to lie down in comfort and cradles your body while providing your partner full access to your body. There are also BDSM sex benches that are optimized for BDSM play, as many feature D-rings, cuffs, and chains to restrain your partner. Sex Chaise Positions Here are some position suggestions you can try on a sex chaise. Please note that we favor the curved sex lounges that are more elegant and comfortable, but you can also get a traditional chaise and combine it with a sex pillow to achieve a similar result: Cowgirl – the chaise lounge sex furniture is ideal for the cowgirl position, mainly because the lounge cradles the man’s body while the woman is free to ride his body and enjoy the angle of penetration. Doggy Style – have the female partner drape over the sex lounge and stick her booty up in the air, with easy reach. The male partner should position behind her for easy penetration from behind. Both partners have good support and enjoyment. Easy Oral Play – one of the best uses of a sex lounge is to use it when you engage in oral play. The lady can lie on her back, presenting her vagina to her partner to lick; alternately, the man can lie back and give easy access to his partner. Shop All Sex Lounges and Sex Benches ===COLLECTION=== Sex Swings Even though the sex swing may not seem like it, it is a piece of sex furniture that provides easy positioning and almost full body support when you engage in some hot, almost weightless sex with your partner. There are different sex swing models that you can find in our store, but no matter the model, these support the body and allow easy access to sex. Sex Swing Positions Here are some of the ways you can use a sex swing. Please note that some models may not allow some of these poses, as it depends on the actual design: Standing Sex – the sex swing is perfect for enjoying some standing sex, as it cradles the woman’s body while keeping the legs spread and gives full access to the vagina. From Behind – some sex swings allow more comfortable positioning for sex from behind, especially for people with mobility issues or for couples with significant height differences. Plus, this pose puts the ass in an ideal position for spanking. Standing Oral – you can really take advantage of the sex swing for some oral play, especially if the receiving partner positions their body in the swing and the giving partner kneels on the ground with full access to their partner’s genitals. Shop All Sex Swings ===COLLECTION=== Sex Tables The sex table is a type of sex furniture that is aimed at bondage practitioners, as the sex table comes equipped with extra features that allow easy bondage and positioning. You can select between different sex table models depending on your needs, wants, and desires, and the exact use is closely related to the model you get. Sex Table Positions Here are some positions you can try with your sex table, but please note that the actual use depends on the design of your sex table. Strapped Down – you can use the sex table to tie your partner down, keeping them in place while you have your way with them. One position is to position them face-down and restrain them to the table while you get access to their body. Standing Sex – the female partner needs to be restrained to the sex table face-up, and her legs need to be spread open so the male partner can get full access to the vagina/anus. Toys/Hands/Oral Play – the sex table is also excellent for positioning the partner for easy access while engaging in oral play or applying different sex toys to drive your partner mad with pleasure. We need to note that many sex tables have adjustable height and adjustable legs/arms/head support, and many have holes for the nipples and genitals, where you can apply clamps. Sex Chairs Here, we are talking about the specialized sex chairs that come with or without a dildo attachment and are designed to provide support during sex. The sex chairs are versatile, and depending on your chosen models, these can be simple, like a foldable sex chair, or can be more complex, like a rocking dildo chair or a sex chair/fuck machine combo. Please check out our full guide on how to use a sex chair for more inspiration. Sex Chair Positions Here are some of the positions you can try with a sex chair; please note that these positions depend on the design of your particular sex chair: Oral play – the sex chairs that are intended for oral play are also known as queening chairs, and these have a seat for the female partner. The male partner needs to lie down on the ground and position their head in the chair, with easy access to the vagina. It brings a whole new definition of the term face-sitting. Elephant Pose – this pose is possible with a sex chair that facilitates the position and angle of penetration. For the pose, the woman should sit on the stool, and the man kneels in front of her, sitting back on his heels and sliding the knees under the woman’s butt. The sex chair will support her butt while the man penetrates her, allowing deeper penetration and pressure on the clitoris. Sex From Behind – the sex stool is a perfect support for sex from behind, especially if you want to experiment and enjoy the wheelbarrow position. For this pose, the woman needs to kneel on all fours and position the sex chair under her torso. The man penetrates her from behind while she wraps her legs around his waist. Shop All Sex and Dildo Chairs ===COLLECTION=== The Bottom Line We love exploring all aspects of sex and testing the options of the different sex furniture models was a true enjoyment. We tried to cover the basics of how to use sex furniture, and we only shared a few options for each model. BDSM for Beginners: How to Start Your BDSM Journey

by Kate Miller on Jan 08 2026
Are you looking to try something new and expand your sexual horizons? The world of BDSM appeals to you and your partner. Well, BDSM is an exciting practice that allows you to connect with your partner on a deeper level and you both to experience a highly erotic and pleasurable time. For those of you who don’t know where to start, then you are at the right place: we created this guide to BDSM for beginners, where we cover all the key things you and your partner need to know when starting your BDSM journey. What Is BDSM? BDSM is an umbrella term that covers a few categories of practices. You don’t have to be into all of these to practice BDSM, but choose the sexual activities that appeal to you and your partner. BDSM is not everyone’s cup of tea, but many are interested in one or more aspects of it. BDSM stands for: Bondage and discipline – the BD in BDSM is for bondage and discipline. Bondage is a sex play involving some sort of restraint, where one partner exerts control over the other partner using different props such as handcuffs, ropes, blindfolds, or a range of restraints. The discipline aspect is training the submissive partner to obey the set rules, act in a certain way, or perform in a specific way. Dominance and submission – the DS in BDSM stands for dominance and submission aspect, and it covers the act of one partner giving power or control (submission) to the other partner who takes it (dominance). These can be emotional or physical; some couples only play their D/s relationship in sexual acts, while others enjoy a more encompassing full-time D/s relationship. Sadism and masochism – the SM in BDSM stands for sadism and masochism. It is preferred by people who enjoy pain/pleasure acts. The sadistic partner enjoys inflicting pain, while the masochistic partner enjoys receiving pain, and both partners enjoy a sense of empowerment from their roles. When done in a safe, sane, and consensual way, it is a very safe sexual act because both partners set clear boundaries beforehand and open communication. Popular culture often misrepresents BDSM, especially if you are taking notes from porn films, which are, to say, a little too extreme. In fact, BDSM practices can be as tame or as extreme as you and your partner are comfortable with. The best thing about BDSM is that you can choose what you want to try and see what works for you and what does not. If you don’t like it, no harm is done, but if you do like it, then you can explore the activity deeper and learn more. BDSM Practices for Beginners Now that we explained the basic definitions let’s talk about some of the BDSM practices that are safe for beginners. Our store is full of excellent BDSM gear that can get you started in your BDSM exploration, but before you go shopping, we must explain some of the categories of BDSM plays that you can try with your partner so you can get a taste of the possibilities: Sensory Play The first thing we suggest you try as an intro to BDSM is sensory play or sensation play. It involves implementing different ways to engage the senses to heighten erotic pleasure. Sensation play also includes arousing the partner with light, pleasing acts that engage the senses and intensify sexual arousal and pleasure. Here are some of the simplest yet effective sensation plays: Blindfold – the easiest way to restrict a sense is to add a blindfold, as it takes away the sight of the submissive partner. This way, you can implement other forms of sensation play while they are blindfolded, which will heighten the arousal as they’ll be forced to focus on the different senses, like touch, sound, and smell. Tickling – tickling is another form of sensation play where one partner gently strokes or tickles the other partner with their fingers or another toy. It is one of the gentlest forms of sensation play and is an excellent way to build erotic tension and set the scene for more intense pleasure later. Massage – sensual massages are an excellent form of sensation play, as they help boost the intimacy between the partners and aid in foreplay and overall arousal. You can get a good variety of erotic massage oils to help with this. Temperature Play – playing with hot and cold sensations is a highly effective way to heighten arousal and wake up the senses. You can do this with a simple ice cube and run it up and down your partner’s body, or take a glass or stainless steel dildo and cool it in ice water, creating a contrasting sensation on the skin. Molten wax is another perfect option for temperature play, and it includes dripping wax on a person’s naked skin to cause a slight burning sensation. Beginners need to stick to soy or paraffin wax play candles that melt at a lower temperature. Shop All BDSM Gear ===COLLECTION=== Impact Play Impact play includes striking the partner in different places and with varying implements for mutual sexual pleasure. It includes slapping, spanking, and punching, as well as using a paddle, a whip, a crop, or a cane. Beginners should start with simple spanking, where one partner uses their palm to spank the butt and thighs of the other partner. After you become comfortable with using your hand, then you can move to use different impact play toys, like: Paddle – the paddle is an impact play toy that is used to spank the submissive partner and cause arousal and intense sensations. You can find different paddles in our store, but beginners should opt for more flexible paddles made from leather or fur-lined models, while more experienced users can go for the stiff, wooden paddles. If you don’t have a paddle nearby, you can use a wooden spatula to see if paddling is something up your alley before you invest money in a quality paddle. Flogger – the flogger is one of the best choices for beginners looking to get into BDSM impact plays. These are not as vicious as whips or canes and provide a distinct effect on the skin. These are handles with multiple strands attached to them, and the more strands a flogger has, the less pronounced the sting is. We recommend that beginners start with soft suede leather or deerskin flogger, as these provide a mild thuddy sensation that brings delicious heat and erotic sensations. Whips, canes and crops – these are also impact play toys, so we mention these in this list. However, using these requires experience from both partners. We don’t recommend a novice use any of these, as they provide a vicious sting and can cause lasting damage if you don’t know what you are doing. Restraints & Bondage Bondage is an integral part of BDSM, and this is the consensual tying, binding, and restraining of a partner for erotic or aesthetic reasons. Physical restraints are most often used, and these can be ropes, cuffs, chains, bondage tape, or bandages. The implications behind bondage play are related to power exchange and control. But it is also common for couples who are not into BDSM to incorporate bondage into their sex lives, as this is a common sexual fantasy that many indulge in. It requires a level of trust between the partners, where the Dominant partner ties down the submissive partner, and the submissive partner relinquishes control to the Dominant. Being restrained leaves the submissive partner open to different sex acts, which is one of the appeals of bondage. There are many psychological implications to why people love bondage. Here, we’ll continue with the most common bondage restraints beginners should use: Handcuffs – handcuffs are one of the most popular bondage implements, and many non-BDSM practicing couples also use these. Related to naughtiness, handcuffs are very popular and an excellent gateway into kinky sex. Even couples in vanilla relationships can experiment with cuffs and check out the possibilities these allow. Bondage rope – bondage rope is excellent for restraining a partner and is essential for the erotic practice known as Shibari. However, Shibari is an advanced technique, which is not something beginners can easily try. That is why there are pre-made hogtie ropes that can be a perfect beginner’s option. Bondage Chains – like bondage rope, bondage chains provide a lot of options for binding and restraining a partner. These are so much easier to use than rope but are very functional and look incredibly hot against the sub’s skin. Because the bondage chains come with all the extra accessories and hardware you may need, these can be a fitting choice for beginners who are looking to get into the impressive world of sensual power play. Bed Restraints – bed restraints are a perfect way to bind your partner to the bed and have your way with them. These also allow you to turn every bed into a bondage bed, which is also suitable for beginners, as it does not require any special installation or knowledge. The simplest under-mattress bed restraints can be the perfect intro into BDSM, as you can set these up in moments and reenact your sexual fantasies. Shop All Bondage Restraints ===COLLECTION=== Tips for Safe BDSM for Beginners Now that we have covered the best BDSM practices for beginners, let’s talk about how to approach this subject with your partner: Explain your fantasies – the first thing to start with is with a fantasy. Bring it up with your partner and explain what you find hot and sexy about it, and get their opinion. Explain what you are imagining and what turns you on, and see if it is something your partner would be willing to explore. Sit down with your partner and be honest about your desires and boundaries. It is a great way to check where your partner stands and be specific about the things you want. For example, tell them that the idea of wearing a blindfold while in bed excites you or that you wish to try bringing handcuffs into the bedroom. Write & agree on things – having a written contract is not a bad idea (aka. Fifty Shades of Grey), as it will help clear up communication and explicitly cover the things both partners are comfortable with. It does not matter if you are in a relationship or are married; writing up a contract on BDSM activities you wish to engage in will undoubtedly be a great intro to your BDSM exploits. It will also amp up the excitement, and you can always expand and amend the contract as you become more comfortable with your new roles. Plan and prepare – planning how you want to do things is essential, and this is also a part of the excitement. Maybe you want to try things while on vacation, or you wish to turn your bedroom into a sexy playroom, wherever you decide you feel safe and can let your inhibitions go. Prepare by shopping for sex toys, props, and tools you may need, and make sure you include your partner in this process. Go together to a sex shop or sit down together if you shop online and make mutual decisions on the things you want to try. Dress up and go slow – dressing up in sexy attire is a great way to set the scene, as it will spark your imagination and will let you enjoy yourselves more. Sexy lingerie, fetish clothing, sexy costumes, or something else that fits your fantasy will be a good choice. Start slowly and talk about the things you are about to do. It will give you both time to get used to the actions, and you can more easily decide if you are enjoying yourselves. If you follow the agreed actions, there is a very slim chance that you may get hurt, which is why it is important not to cross the set boundaries. Don’t rush – if you have had one enjoyable BDSM experience with your partner, you may be tempted to quickly rush into another. But if you both are beginners, then the smart thing is to wait and don’t rush into things. Instead, space out your experiences and gradually move towards the bolder stuff on your list. Aftercare The entire BDSM experience has a high emotional impact, and both partners are subject to an emotional low that comes with extreme feelings. Aftercare is vital to tackle this, and both the submissive and Dominant partners need sufficient care and rest. As beginners in BDSM, you may not have experience with aftercare, which is why constantly asking if your partner is fine is essential. Any soothing activity like providing fluids and food and physical comfort is important, as are other activities like a warm bath. Talk about the experience afterward, and have the submissive partner explain what they liked and what they thought when the Dominant partner did an action. Aftercare is key in all forms of sex, which shows that both partners care about each other and the actions they performed were enjoyable and meaningful for both. Before we let you go to explore our sex toy store and our impressive BDSM gear collection, we need to know that the physical, verbal, and emotional intimacy you express during and after any BDSM experience can strengthen your relationship and draw you deeper into the sensual world of BDSM. Kink vs. Fetish: What is the Difference?

by Kate Miller on Jan 08 2026
You’ve heard the terms kink and fetish thrown around and used interchangeably, but these are not the same thing. Instead, kink and fetish have different meanings. Both are related to sexuality and human identity; these have more profound implications and necessitate detailed explanations. So, we prepared this guide where we explain the differences between kink and fetish and how you can explore these to your satisfaction. What Is a Kink? A kink is any unconventional or non-traditional sexual interest or practice. In other words, all the things that are outside of the “normally” accepted sexual norms are considered kinky. It can be a sexual fantasy, a sexual preference, or a specific behavior that a person enjoys, but it is not required for the person to feel sexual arousal or fulfillment. Some examples of kinks are roleplaying, BDSM games, orgasm denial, or sensory play. To explore and engage in kinks, individuals need to consent and agree on the actions beforehand, and there should be clear communication between all the involved parties. What Is a Fetish? A fetish is a specific sexual fixation on an object, body part, material, or particular situation for the person to achieve sexual arousal and experience sexual satisfaction. A fetish is more deeply interconnected in the person’s psyche and plays a vital role in their sexual fantasies and sexual experiences. Some examples of fetishes are feet fetish, latex fetish, D/s dynamic, or bondage. A fetish is something a person can’t get aroused without, and they either need to fantasize about it or engage in it to experience arousal and sexual satisfaction. Differences Between Kinks and Fetishes Kinks and fetishes overlap in some areas, but these are distinct aspects of sexual interests and behaviors. Knowing the differences between kinks and fetishes can help you learn more about your sexuality and help you become better at communicating and interacting with your partner. The general difference between kinks and fetishes can be defined as something someone likes to do vs. something someone has to do to experience sexual pleasure. Kinks are more diverse and usually don’t focus intensely on a specific object or scenario but are actions that people use to enhance their sexual pleasure. Kinks are not necessary for a person to experience arousal and sexual satisfaction; people can usually enjoy a range of sexual activities and scenarios. The kinks are generally more playful and don’t dominate each sexual encounter, which is why people can enjoy them on occasion or regularly but are not solely dependent on their kinks for pleasure and sexual satisfaction. On the other hand, the fetish is related to a deeper connection to a subject. People usually have a singular fetish, and the subject is deeply ingrained with sexual arousal and sexual satisfaction. It is often central to a person experiencing sexual gratification and does not allow any flexibility. Instead, a fetish is firmly rooted in a person’s sexual identity, which is where their singular focus comes from, and the need for specific actions or objects for achieving sexual pleasure. Examples of Common Kinks & Fetishes The term kinky means something outside of the commonly perceived societal norms, and you can find plenty of kinks that people engage in on occasion. Here is a list of the most commonly found kinks: BDSM – one of the most common kinks is BDSM, which stands for Bondage, Discipline, Domination, Submission, Sadism, and Masochism. It is an umbrella term that covers a long list of activities like spanking, handcuffs, sensory play, etc. Exhibitionism – this is a common kink where a person is aroused by others observing their sexual acts. Exhibitionists often enjoy performing their sexual acts in front of an audience, but it is not always mandatory for them to do this to experience pleasure. Voyeurism – opposed yet closely related to exhibitionism, voyeurism is when a person enjoys watching other people participate in sexual activity. Voyeurs find this intensely arousing, but they don’t need it constantly to experience sexual pleasure. Role Play – this activity involves the partners portraying different characters during sex. These can be people you are familiar with or fictional characters, basically whatever fits your fancy. Virtual sex – often done in this digital age, virtual sex is anything sexual you do over the internet. It includes dirty texts, sexy pics, sexting, and digital sex parties, as well as using app-controlled sex toys with long-distance control. Fetishes are more defined than kinks and often require a specific object or an act to experience arousal and sexual pleasure. Here we list some of the most often found fetishes: Bondage – one aspect of BDSM, bondage includes one partner restraining the other partner with specific BDSM restraints. Bondage can be a kink for many, but people who have a bondage fetish usually can’t get aroused without restraining their partner (or being restrained themselves). Foot fetish – this fetish is when a person needs close interaction with feet to feel arousal and sexual pleasure. People with a foot fetish are aroused by anything related to feet. They can interact with these in different ways, like looking at feet or images of feet, kissing feet, or any other interaction with feet. Nylon/vinyl fetish – this fetish involves the person wearing nylon or vinyl clothes or having their partner wear nylon during foreplay or sex. These are often BDSM lingerie items that are designed to accent specific body parts. Uniform fetish – this is a common fetish where a uniform sexually arouses a person. It can be a regular or sexualized costume, such as a schoolgirl uniform, French maid uniform, nurse uniform, military uniform, police uniform, or other uniforms. It is also a common kink. Leather – many people have a leather fetish, and this includes them or their partner wearing leather clothes or using leather implements. Final Thoughts Before we let you go to explore our sex toy store and check out all the amazing kink and fetish toys we carry for you, we need to note that there is nothing wrong with having sexual kinks and fetishes, as long as these are not harmful to you or others. While society may stigmatize some kinks and fetishes, when practiced safely, these can be arousing and fulfilling experiences. Always talk to your partner about your desires, and remember that it is natural to explore all your kinks and fetishes in a safe, consensual way. BDSM Aftercare: Basics and Guide

by Kate Miller on Jan 08 2026
Any sexual activity can be physically and emotionally draining, but nothing compares to an intense BDSM scene. Starting with the anticipation and continuing with the demanding activities, panting, and heart racing, most BDSM scenes take a toll, which is why aftercare is key for a complete experience. Here, we share a guide to aftercare for beginners, how it helps bring relief from the intensity of the BDSM scene, and how to do it. What is BDSM Aftercare? BDSM aftercare is a physical and emotional care-taking that happens after an intense sexual activity. In vanilla relationships, it can be cuddling, kissing, or soft touches, while in BDSM relationships, it requires something extra. Because most of the BDSM scenes are intense and often involve fantasy roles and demanding activities, these can push the limits and cause a surge of adrenaline and endorphins that take the body out of balance. Aftercare is necessary to ground the partners, bring them back to reality, and help restore the balance after the drop. The drop is what happens when the body starts to relax after a strenuous activity, and the extra hormones leave the system. In this time, both partners, but most often the submissive partner, may feel exhausted, drained, and disconnected from their body, which is an additional shock. So, you can note why aftercare is the time for the partners to be vulnerable with each other, to talk and reflect on the scene, and to replenish their energy. Top Space and Subspace Before we go into detail on some of the aftercare steps, we need to explain two essential terms in BDSM: top space and subspace. We used the research and definitions of the studies in social psychology that engaged in a detailed analysis of the altered states of mind that BDSM practitioners experience. When the Dominant partner engages in a BDSM scene, they often experience an altered state of mind. It is described as an experience of an altered state of mind, where the Dominant experiences “a perfect flow or a highly pleasurable mental state with increased focus, loss of self-consciousness and optimal performance.” The subspace is what happens to the submissive partner, and it is also an altered state of mind. However, the subspace is associated with “temporary impairment of the brain’s functions, along with a feeling of floating, peacefulness, time distortion and living in the here and now.” But what goes up must come down because the altered states of mind are a result of a complex cocktail of brain chemicals. So, when the stimulation stops, and the body starts processing the adrenaline, oxytocin and endorphins, it will experience a change in sensations, which are described as top drop and sub drop, respectively. Enter aftercare. BDSM Aftercare Steps Now that you know why aftercare is necessary, let’s list some of the most critical steps you must take to help yourself and your partner after an intense BDSM scene: Tend to injuries or wounds – the BDSM scenes most often involve spanking, flogging, another type of impact play, or bondage, and any of these activities are bound to leave a mark on the skin. The first step in proper aftercare is to take away any implements or tools used and take care of any injury or wound. It can be a rope burn or a blooming bruise where a cold compress helps or applying moisturizing cream on reddened, overheated skin. Reassuring words - the sub needs to hear words of reassurance, so verbal praises are a good way to start the aftercare routine. Expressing respect and positive reinforcements are vital for helping the submissive get back to normal and experience nurturing feelings. A blanket or clothes – most scenes encompass the submissive probed and held in many situations, which leaves a person feeling exposed. So, after a scene, it is wise to offer a cover to the sub. It can be a warm blanket or loose-fitting clothes like a bathrobe that will wrap the sum and make them feel safe and comfortable. It also has a calming effect on the nerves, as it offers protection from exposure during the scene. Slow breathing – taking slow and deep breaths is a way to slow down the heart rate and give the body time to relax and slowly come down from the exertion. It will provide both partners with time to release any tension, process what happened, and focus on the feelings that need to be dealt with. Kisses, cuddling, and stroking – soft kissing after a scene can be an excellent way for the Dominant partner to show their submissive partner that they care about them and that the actions during the scene do not define the relationship between them. Instead, kissing, gentle strokes, and cuddling will reassure the sub that all is well in the relationship. A good hug can also go a long way in helping the submissive partner feel reassured. Drink and food – offering food and drink to the submissive partner is a good way to replenish their strength and help with hydration. Many scenes will cause the submissive to pant excessively and the Dom to sweat, which means loss of fluids, so having a drink and a snack afterward is a wise idea. It is not practical to drink and eat during playtime, but it is necessary as a part of aftercare. A piece of chocolate can be especially effective in raising the blood sugar level and helping with a boost of energy. Conversation – a BDSM scene may involve plenty of intense actions that may or may not be expected. So, as a part of aftercare, the partners can sit down and chat about what they liked and what they did not like. It is imperative to outline the feelings that occurred during the scene, particularly if the scene involved some sort of humiliation play. Taking the time to acknowledge that these are only part of the scene and don’t leak in real life is essential for the Dominant and submissive partner. Music or a movie – a good way to put yourself and your partner at ease after a strenuous and intense BDSM scene is to listen to music or watch a movie or a TV show. Preferably, it should be something that you’ve heard or watched before that can put you both at ease and that you find comforting. Shower or a bath – taking a shower with or without the partner or luxuriating in a bath after an intense scene is an excellent way to unwind and relax. It can also help relax the muscles and ease any aches. Sleep – sleep is a fix for many problems, especially for boosting your energy levels and letting your body recover and recoup after a strenuous activity. Taking a short nap or falling into deep slumber may be the perfect thing for both partners, especially after a very intense and demanding BDSM scene. Final Words Aftercare is not to be overlooked or taken lightly, but it is a necessary part of BDSM. It is something that professional Dominants always take very seriously, as it is the Dominant’s responsibility to take care of their submissive. As we stated, aftercare is a way to decompress and wind down after a scene, which is why you need to think about the things that work best for you and your partner and apply them after playtime. The recovery time depends on the individuals, with some rebounding more quickly while others need more time and attention. You may not always need aftercare, but this comes down to the scenes and the individual. Also, make sure you check in with your partner after a day or two, as the mental exhaustion may come much later. In any case, taking things slow and maintaining clear, open communication is key for pleasurable playtime and comfortable easing into the everyday, mundane things. How to Be a Dominatrix: Guide to Femdom Role Play

by Kate Miller on Jan 08 2026
The BDSM games work on control, especially sexual control, and the partner in charge is called the Dominant. When the female partner is in charge, the term is Dominatrix, which is what we’ll focus on here. Being a Dominatrix or a Domme involves sexual control while respecting your partner and their boundaries, and ensuring all the actions you both partake in are consensual. Our sex experts and psychologists helped us with this topic, so here we’ll cover the key things to being a Dominatrix and how to engage in safe, satisfying role-play games as a Domme. What Is a Dominatrix? A Dominatrix is a woman who exerts psychological and/or physical power over their partner. The partner is referred to as the submissive or sub. The role of a Dominatrix can be a full-time role, where they exert a constant dominant role over their partner in all aspects of life, or a part-time role that is focused on exploring kinks, fetishes, and partaking in various BDSM scenes. If you are married or in a committed relationship with your partner, and they ask you to dominate them, take this into account as something they want or need to try. Here, we must outline that both the Domme and her sub should engage in negotiations with clear, open communication before they enter into any type of relationship that involves domination, whether it be sexual or non-sexual. Becoming a Dominatrix The key things that men find sexy about a woman are confidence and assertiveness, which are also essential traits for a Dominatrix. But there are some other tricks a lady can learn to become a better Domme and dominate her partner in bed. First of all, the Domme has a responsibility to plan and execute the experience and care for their partner afterward. Here we share a list of the key tips to help any woman become a Dominatrix: Learn what domination is all about. There is so much more to being a Dominatrix than just putting on a sexy leather corset, high-heeled boots, and holding a whip. In fact, being a Dominatrix may not involve pain of any type if that is the preference of both partners. The form of domination can be verbal, sexual, physical, or psychological, and it is asserted through mental and physical stimulations. We must be clear that both partners get something out of the relationship, as they engage in it by mutual agreement. Discussion and consent. The next step before you engage in a sexual activity as a Domme is to discuss things with your partner and outline what you both are comfortable with. Make sure your submissive partner is open about their physical and mental boundaries, and get their consent about everything. Establishing verbal or non-verbal signals is essential, as these serve as necessary safety measures. List of boundaries. While you are discussing what you are comfortable with and what you don’t want to try. It is wise to create a written contract that outlines what you would like to try and the hard limits you should avoid at all costs. If you and your submissive partner are interested in trying different BDSM scenes, you should also make a list of the activities you would like to try, like role-play, teasing, impact play, or any other kink or fetish. Prepare a power look. We mentioned leather corsets and tall boots above —they’re powerful tools every Domme needs. The proper attire and embellishments complete the Domme character, making you feel powerful and sexy. Some examples of power-boosting clothes include a leather corset and pants, strappy lingerie, latex lingerie, gloves, a full-body suit, or even a business suit with a pencil skirt, a tight shirt, and a jacket. Discuss and use props. As a Domme, you should learn how to use props and be an expert in using them to their maximum advantage. For example, if you engage in impact play, you should know how to use a crop, a paddle, a flogger, or a whip, so you can deliver the sensations your sub expects from you. We suggest you start with milder implements, such as a blindfold, a mouth gag, and a tickler, before moving on to more severe props. For more info, please check out our guide to safely introduce impact toys to your playtime. Read their body. As a Dominatrix, you should pay close attention to your sub’s body language, especially when you engage in more demanding scenes. Because the sub places their trust in your hands, you need to honor this trust by ensuring their safety. Pay close attention to their reactions, facial expressions, and signals, and act accordingly. Engage in aftercare. The aftercare is integral to any BDSM scene, and as a Domme, you are required to engage in aftercare, showing your appreciation to your sub. It is the time to be tender with your partner and check in with them, ensuring their mental and physical well-being. You can refer to our guide to aftercare for more tips on excellent aftercare. Femdom Role Play Ideas Becoming a dominatrix is not tricky, but it should not be done as a trial by fire. Instead, a slow and straightforward approach is more effective, especially when both partners are relatively inexperienced with this dynamic. It is why, based on the suggestions from our team of sex coaches and psychologists, we share a list of role-play ideas you, as a Dominatrix, can engage in with your sub. Bondage – having your sub bound and ready for your attention is empowering and a game that many love. We are talking about using bondage chains, ropes, handcuffs, or even bed restraints to keep your sub in place. Impact Play – the most engaging aspect of BDSM and D/s relationships is impact play, when an impact toy is used to hit the body, most often the butt, thighs, and back. The most popular impact toys are the flogger, the paddle, the crop, the whip, and the cane. Sensation Play – similar to impact play, you can use various implements to stimulate your sub’s senses. We mentioned ticklers, but you can also use wax play candles, erotic massage oils, a blindfold, or even a Wartenberg wheel to excite your partner and exert your domination over them in a non-painful way. Cock & Ball Torture – this activity may sound extreme, but if done correctly, it can be very pleasurable for the sub. It involves using a cock ring, usually made from a stretchy material that will not bring too much pain. However, people who enjoy pain or have trouble listening to orders may require a more devious device, which is where the cock cages come into play. It is also an excellent way to combine orgasm denial play. Humiliation – humiliation play is prevalent, but not every male sub is comfortable with it. Still, it is a very effective power play, and it can include verbal humiliation, usually aimed at penis humiliation or body humiliation. Begging is another aspect of humiliation play, especially if you make him beg for an activity he is not comfortable with, and then have him thank you for it. Anal Play – anal play is powerful in showing your sub who is in charge. Many guys have trouble with anal play, as it contradicts power and masculinity. As a Dominatrix, it is your role to show them who’s in charge, and you can use a butt plug, a male dildo, or a prostate toy to keep them in their place. An interesting way to exert your domination is to make them wear a prostate toy while they are out and about. You can also use a strap-on to peg your partner, which can be used as a punishment or pleasure. Oral Play – demanding your sub go down on you whenever the mood strikes is another powerful femdom practice. You can use a special sex furniture item like a queening chair as the perfect implement for this activity. Also, combining oral and humiliation can be effective, and you can make your partner perform oral on a dildo, and you can instruct them on the proper technique. Caretaking – this is not the classic intense BDSM scene, but a caretaking experience can be a powerful way to exert your dominance over your partner in a non-sexual way. It differs from aftercare, as the Dominatrix does something for her submissive, usually as an act of love and care. The Bottom Line There are many benefits to becoming a Dominatrix, especially because many couples enjoy this activity, and there is something to be said about female domination. We shared the basics of becoming a Dominatrix and some ideas for role-play games to engage with your partner. Please note that there are many other games a Dominatrix and her partner can engage in. Keep in mind that the keys to a successful and pleasurable Domme/sub relationship are trust, respect, and open communication. Learn More With Our BDSM Sex Toy Guides: How to Choose BDSM Restraints? How to Anal Douche Properly for More Enjoyable Butt Play

by Kate Miller on Dec 18 2025
The first thing to know about rectal douches is that they are not a new phenomenon. They have been used as part of the medical process for decades. Anal douches refer to any substance inserted into the rectum to clean out the area. A rectal douche is a great tool to have in your sex toy box if you are looking to explore anal play. It’s an economical way to anal douching, and most importantly, it can open the door for more intense pleasure. In addition, you can do it at home, and you don’t need any equipment or chemicals. It would be best if you had water and some time. And it’s safe if you’re healthy and have no underlying health problems. In this guide, we will cover what anal douching is, why do it, the process of doing it, and share some of our top tips on anal douching. What is an anal douche? An anal douche is a type of enema. It is a way to clean out the colon, rectum, and anus. This is done by introducing a liquid into the body through the anus, usually with a tube or wand. The liquid may contain chemicals or other substances to help kill germs in the colon or rectum. The idea behind using a rectal douche is that it allows you to empty your bowels without having to worry about the mess. This can be especially helpful if you have constipation or are not very good at emptying your bowels naturally. Why would you use an anal douche? Most people who use a rectal douche look for a more enjoyable experience during anal play. A rectal douche is also an excellent choice for those who want to relax and let go while they enjoy their partner’s anus. However, there are many other reasons why people choose to douche, ranging from basic hygiene to treating medical conditions. Here are just a few of them: 1. To keep the area clean The rectal douche is a straightforward, effective, and safe way to clean your colon. It’s also one of the simplest ways to keep your butt clean and healthy, ensuring you are ready to indulge in anal sex whenever you and your partner want. 2. Treating hemorrhoids Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the anus area. These veins often become inflamed and painful. Left untreated, they can cause bleeding, itching, pain, and discomfort, making anal sex painful and almost impossible. If you notice these symptoms, you should perform anal douche immediately. It helps treat these symptoms by flushing out blood clots and bacteria from the affected area. 3. Preventing infections Another benefit of using an anal douche is that it prevents infections. If you are prone to urinary tract infections (UTIs), you should use an anal douche before bed at night. This way, you can prevent UTIs from occurring and ensure you have a pleasant butt experience. 4. Getting rid of parasites Parasites are tiny organisms that live inside the human body. Most commonly, they reside in the intestines but can also live in the mouth, nose, ears, eyes, and genitals. Parasites can make us sick and even kill us if we don’t get rid of them. Parasites can be transmitted sexually, orally, or through contact with infected animals. Anal douching removes parasites by washing away their eggs and larvae, making anal sex more comfortable and healthier. 5. Improving your sex life Some people find that sex becomes less enjoyable as the years go by. One way to improve your sex life is to perform anal douching before intercourse. Cleaning out the rectum will eliminate any bacteria and debris that could irritate the anus and prevent you from reaching orgasm. 6. To reduce odor Anal douches are popular because they help keep the area clean and free from odor. The skin of the anus and rectum can get damaged and absorb odors when exposed to fecal matter, so using a rectal douche will help prevent this from happening. This will make anal sex more pleasant for both sides - the giver and the receiver. 7. To relieve constipation A rectal douche will remove any buildup of bacteria and other unwanted substances that may have accumulated in the rectum. The water used in the douche also helps with this process as it helps to loosen up whatever has accumulated inside so that it can be easily removed. 8. To treat diarrhea When you have diarrhea, you often feel bloated and uncomfortable. Doing anal douche helps remove fecal matter, bacteria, and toxins from the colon that could cause discomfort. This will ensure you can have anal sex without worrying about unwanted accidents. Our top picks for anal douches ===COLLECTION=== What can you use Anal douching has been around for quite some time now. Doctors and nurse practitioners first used it in the early 1900s to help treat digestive disorders such as diarrhea and constipation. Today, many different types of anal douches are available on the market. There are many different douche options available, ranging from simple home kits to more specialized sprays and liquids. Some of the products are made specifically for rectal use, while others can be used both inside and outside the body. It is up to each individual to decide which method to use. Here are the most popular methods of anal douching: Bulb Douche Doing a bulb anal douche of the most popular and reasonably priced anal douching kits, it typically consists of two parts: a silicone or rubber bulb and a nozzle that you insert into the bulb. To use it, place the nozzle into your butt after adding warm water to the bulb. To release the water, squeeze the bulb. You typically get a superficial to cleanse from this. Enema bottle You can use these over-the-counter laxative remedies to get temporary relief, especially if you have constipation. If you opt for this method, make sure you follow the directions on the package to complete it safely. Results should be visible in two to five minutes, so you can quickly experience release. The use of fleet enemas should not go beyond a week without a doctor’s approval. Tell your doctor if you experience any adverse side effects, such as bleeding, pain, blistering, a burning sensation, or other forms of irritation. Shower enema Some may also opt to use their shower to do an anal douche. This involves using the hose of your shower to spray water into the anus. There are some kits with a nozzle you can attach to the shower hose to make it easier to do the anal douche. When using this approach, make sure the water pressure is not too strong to avoid hurting your insides. Water bag This method involves using a bag like a hot water bottle that you can hang from a hook. It has a long tube coming out of it whose end you can insert it into your butt. You can also fill this with a natural solution, such as olive oil or aloe vera gel. Additionally, an adapter for controlling the flow is typically included. Its design makes it portable and straightforward, but it may require frequent cleaning and replacing. How to Anal Douche A rectal douche is a cleansing process used to clean the rectum or lower colon. The process can be done with water or liquid containing enzymes that help break down waste matter. While there are several methods of anal douching, the process is relatively similar for most of them. Drink plenty of water The first step in using a rectal douche is discharging the waste from your colon by drinking some water. This will help loosen the stools and get them moving out of your body quickly so that they don’t stick around too long in your colon. Clean Make sure you’re clean before you start your routine. If you haven’t showered or used the toilet in at least two hours, it’s best to wait until then. Clean and dry your hands thoroughly with soap and water before inserting any tools into the anus. Inserting anything into the anus without washing your hands could lead to infection. Prepare Your anus has two outer rings of muscle, and both should be relaxed. After washing your hands, insert a finger into your anus and play with it to relax the outer and inner rings of muscle. You should feel pressure around your anus before using a lubricated object to penetrate your anus. Use lube Make sure to have enough lube by your side when anal douching. It will help with easier insertion and better sensation during douching — especially if you have sensitive skin or tendons around the anus area; this helps make things more comfortable by relaxing those tissues so they don’t tighten up as you insert the nozzle. ===COLLECTION=== Insert Insert the nozzle of the douche into your anus, ensuring it’s not touching any other body parts (legs, feet, etc.). Hold the nozzle for about 30 seconds, allowing the solution inside to reach your rectum. Once the liquid has reached your rectum, slowly squeeze out as much solution as possible from the nozzle before releasing pressure. Clean up again It’s essential to clean the douche immediately after finishing. Use mild soap and water to sanitize the nozzle and bulb, and leave them to air dry completely. Store the unit in a safe, relaxed, and dry area, away from bacteria and particles that may damage it. And, of course, make sure to wash your hands after using it as well. Related Article: Best Anal Douches Reviewed Things to keep in mind An anal douche is the most straightforward and effective way to clean your colon at home. We covered the reasons to do it and the process of anal douching, so here are some things to keep in mind when doing rectal douching: Prepare the area before using a douche. This means cleaning your anus and surrounding areas with warm water and gentle or antiseptic soap. Ensure the area is free of hair, dirt, and other debris. While this may sound obvious, many people make the mistake of not cleaning before playing with it, which can lead to infections or even bleeding. Mind the temperature. The liquid used should be warm and not too hot to avoid irritation. A temperature of 105° F (40° C) is ideal. Don’t use too much water when douching your anus. The first time you do a rectal douche, don’t try to use too much water at once – just enough so that it runs clear through into the toilet bowl (without any leftovers). You don’t want to create a pool of water inside your rectum that could cause discomfort or pain if it leaks out during sex or masturbation. Make sure that the douche nozzle is long enough for you to reach all areas of your anus. If it’s too short, it will be difficult for you to clean out your anal cavity because there won’t be enough room for the nozzle between your cheeks and the anus itself (there should be about a 1-inch space between them). It’s important not to hold your breath during this process. Holding in the air can cause discomfort or pain due to its lack of oxygen content; however, if this does happen (especially if you’re not used to doing this), exhale gently during release time so as not to cause further discomfort. When using a syringe-type applicator, ensure the tip has been sterilized by boiling it in water for at least 10 minutes before use. Please do not use an applicator that has been reused or shared with others, as it may harbor harmful bacteria that could lead to infection. It’s okay to regularly anal douche, but make sure you’re not exaggerating. While there is no correct number of times to do an anal douche, make sure not to do it more than two or three times per week. While many different types of douches are available, they all contain some form of soap or detergent. These products can irritate the skin and mucous membranes, so using a rectal douche is not recommended for people with sensitive skin or inflammation in their bowels. The length of time you perform anal douche varies depending on how often you perform it. Typically, you should perform anal douching for about 30 minutes. However, stop immediately and consult a doctor if you experience severe pain while anal douching. Before using this method, you should also ensure that you don’t have any cuts or abrasions on your anus, as they could cause problems. Final thoughts In the end, anal douching or enemas aren’t mandatory for safe and enjoyable anal play. However, if it makes you feel more comfortable being clean down there, it’s the way to go! If you’re unsure whether douching is right for you, talk to your doctor before starting — especially if you’re taking medications that could interact with each other or make you sicker than usual.

How to Use a Butt Plug?

by Kate Miller on Dec 18 2025
Anal play is profoundly pleasurable and satisfactory, and the best toy for the job is the butt plug. It does not matter if you are a beginner in anal play; using a butt plug is a perfect way to get into the sensation-filled world of anal sex. Or maybe you are an experienced person who enjoys anal play as a way to expand their sexual horizons. Here, our experts provide a detailed guide on how to use a butt plug and share some tips for satisfactory anal play from the start. What Is a Butt Plug? A butt plug is a sex toy that has a conical or spade-like design that plugs your butt, but in a good way. It is inserted in the butt for sexual pleasure, as part of anal masturbation or in preparation for anal sex. The anus and rectum are filled with nerve endings and the butt plug stimulates and excited them, providing a deeply satisfying experience. Butt plugs come in various shapes, sizes, textures and materials. There are models shaped as penises, but the majority of them have a broad body, a narrow neck, and a flared base that prevents the butt plug from traveling up the rectum. Shop Butt Plugs ===COLLECTION=== How to Use a Butt Plug? Using a butt plug is relatively simple, but you need some preparation. Apart from selecting a butt plug from a body-safe material, which we'll cover at length below, here is how you to use a butt plug: Prepare for anal play – you can shave or wax the anus before you engage in any anal play, but this is not mandatory. Try to have a bowel movement (to poop) before trying anal play, and take a shower to wash your behind. If you feel uncertain about cleanliness, you can do an anal douche to rinse your rectum. Again, this is not necessary to anal douche every time you want to use a butt plug, and you should not do this too often. Add lube – the anus is not self-lubricating, so lube is necessary for a comfortable experience, and we recommend you add a fair amount of lube to make things glide easily and avoid hurting yourself. Always use a lube that is compatible with the material of your butt plug; if you use a silicone butt plug, then use a water-based lube, but if you opt for a metal or glass butt plug, you can use silicone-based lube. Get comfortable – when going to slip the butt plug in your anus, get in a comfy position that will enable you to relax your body and mind. If you have the help of your partner, it may be easier to insert it, as you can lie on your stomach and expose your booty to your partner, and they can lube you up and slowly insert the butt plug. If you are going to do this solo, we advise you to assume a squat position, as it is the easiest to get your anus relaxed and insert the butt plug. Slow and easy – when you insert the butt plug, whether you do it solo or have your partner's help, you need to go slow and easy to avoid hurting yourself and tearing the sensitive skin in the anus. Don't force it inside, but push it in slowly, allowing the muscles to relax and take the intrusion. That is why most putt plugs have a tapered tip – to allow easy insertion. You can try pushing out on the plug, as it will force the muscles to relax, and you can place it inside more easily. Wear it for a limited time – when you insert the butt plug in your booty, make sure it is comfortable and wear it for a limited time, for about 20 minutes at a time. After you get more experience in wearing a butt plug, you can leave one in for longer. Listen to your body's responses, and you'll know when it is time to take it out. Clean and sterilize your butt plug – after you are done using the butt plug, make sure you clean it with soap and water or use antibacterial sex toy cleaner to remove all residue. Glass and metal butt plugs, and non-vibrating silicone butt plugs can also be sterilized in boiling water. If you have a butt plug that is made from a porous material, it is better to use a condom over it to prevent contact with fecal matter and facilitate cleaning. After you clean and dry your butt plug, make sure you store it in a separate sex toy storage bag, away from other toys and materials. ===COLLECTION===  How to Select a Butt Plug? Now that we've covered the main points on how to use a butt plug, we must discuss how to choose abut plug. There are some key aspects you need to know when selecting a butt plug, like the following: Design – the butt plug design is key for pleasurable use. You can select between butt plugs with tapered tips or blunt tips, butt plugs with a broad or narrow body, smooth butt plugs and models that are textured, and butt plugs with wide, round bases or models with T-shaped bases. Each model has its merits, and your decision depends on your experience level and the result you wish to achieve. For absolute novices, we recommend you look into anal training kits that have progressively increasing sizes of butt plugs. Material – we always recommend you get butt plugs from body-safe materials like silicone, glass or metal. Avoid butt plugs or other anal toys that are made from porous materials like TPE/TPR or jelly, as these are not safe and are challenging to clean. Size – when it comes to butt plug size, you have a broad selection, ranging from small, beginner-friendly plugs to large butt plugs that are for experienced users who know what they are doing. Beginners should opt for smaller plugs in both length and diameter. We list all the dimensions in our product descriptions, so make sure you check the dimensions before purchasing your new butt plug. Features – when it comes to features, we are thinking about vibrations, jeweled butt plug bases, tail butt plugs, inflatable butt plugs, and other features. If you get a vibrating butt plug, look for one that has a wireless remote controller that will make it easier for you to control and enjoy the vibrations. Tips for Safe Butt Plug Play Using a butt plug can be very pleasurable if done right. So, here we share some tips for safe butt plug play that you should keep in mind: Choose the right design – we advise beginners to select butt plugs with narrow, tapered tips that facilitate insertion and have slimmer bodies and narrow necks that don't feel too intrusive. Experienced users can go for more advanced models with broader bodies or inflatable models that offer more options. Vibrations are an extra perk – adventurous users can opt for the vibrating butt plug models that provide a delicious sensation and extra pleasure. However, beginners may find these too much, so we advise you to get into the groove of wearing a simple butt plug before you get one that vibrates. Safety first – always buy sex toys and butt plugs made from body-safe materials like silicone, glass or stainless steel. Also, get compatible lube and stay away from lubes with numbing agents, as these, while they numb the area and somewhat ease discomfort, can mask any pain that can be potentially harmful. The Bottom Line Butt plugs are safe and are very exciting to use, but the key is to choose a model that is perfect for you. We covered all the bases on how to use a butt plug and how to choose one based on your experience level. If you want to learn more about choosing and using other sex toys, please check out our blog. How to Clean a Butt Plug

by Kate Miller on Dec 18 2025
Using a sex toy can be so very pleasurable and exciting, but you need to pay special attention to cleanliness. So, here our experts will discuss how to clean a butt plug and how to prepare for anal play with ease. We’ll discuss all the particulars about cleaning butt plugs, but also how to properly store a butt plug to keep it clean, safe, and ready for you. What Is a Butt Plug? A butt plug is a sex toy designed to be inserted in the butt to provide sexual pleasure. These are short and have a particular conical body, a narrow neck, and a flared base that sits outside the rectum. These come in various sizes, with different features, and are made from various materials. The material the butt plug is made from is critical to cleaning it, which we’ll cover at length below. When it comes to cleaning butt plugs, you need to know how your butt plug is made and the material it is made from. Basically, you have waterproof, splashproof, and non-waterproof butt plugs. Waterproof butt plugs – it means your butt plug can be safely submerged in water without any risk of damaging the interior workings. It is often referred to as IPX7 for vibrating butt plugs, but non-vibrating glass, metal, and silicone butt plugs are naturally waterproof. Splashproof butt plugs – if your butt plug is rated as splashproof, it means you can quickly rinse it under running water but not submerge it in water for longer. You can find butt plugs with the IPX5 rating or butt plugs referred to as splashproof. Non-waterproof – it means your butt plug is not waterproof and should not be cleaned under water. Shop Butt Plugs ===COLLECTION=== How to Clean Butt Plugs? You can clean a butt plug by wiping it away with an antibacterial wipe, wash it with soap and water, and you can boil some models. Here is how to clean a butt plug based on the construction method and materials these are made: How to Clean Glass Butt Plugs? Cleaning glass butt plugs is one of the easiest things you can do, as glass is non-porous, body-safe, and effortless to clean. You can wash a glass butt plug with soap and water or use any sex toy cleaner to sanitize it. However, you can also boil a glass butt plug to ensure it is squeaky clean, as glass can withstand the extreme temperature during boiling, and you can even place a glass butt plug in the dishwasher. The same tehnique can be applied to metal butt plugs, as these are also non-porous and effortless to clean. How to Clean Silicone Butt Plugs? Silicone is very easy to clean and maintain, especially the non-vibrating silicone butt plugs. Cleaning a non-vibrating silicone butt plug is straightforward, as you can wash it with soap and water or use a sex toy cleaner to clean it. However, the non-vibrating silicone butt plugs can also be boiled for deep sterilization and can be placed in the dishwasher on a quick cycle. How to Clean a Vibrating Silicone Butt Plug? Cleaning the vibrating silicone butt plugs requires you to check the waterproof rating that you can find in our product description or check the label on the butt plug package. If you have a waterproof silicone butt plug, you can freely wash it with soap and warm water or use your go-to sex toy cleaner. Please note that you can’t boil silicone motorized/vibrating butt plugs, as the warm water will destroy the inner mechanism. How to Clean Tail Butt Plugs? The tail butt plugs are a popular choice among people with animal fetishes, as these feature a butt plug onto which a tail attaches. Cleaning these is more challenging, especially if the tail section is non-removable. If the tail section is removable, you can remove it from the butt plug and wash the butt plug separately. If the tail section is made from natural animal fur, you can’t wash it with regular soap and water. Instead, you need to gently wipe it with a damp towel and dry it with a hairdryer on low heat. If the tail is made from faux fur, then you can carefully wash it with soap and water and hang it to dry or pat it with a towel and dry it with a hairdryer. How to Clean Inflatable Butt Plugs? The inflatable butt plugs require you to be careful when cleaning them to prevent water from entering the inflation mechanism. You can use a sex toy cleaning spray to clean the inflatable butt plug, or you can carefully wash it with soap and water. Be careful not to let water inside the plug, as it can have an adverse effect in the long run. How to Clean Porous Butt Plugs? If you have a butt plug made from a porous material like TPE/TPR, Cyberskin, rubber, or jelly, then you need to be extra careful with cleaning. These are porous materials that have tiny pores on the surface where bacteria and residue can get trapped and cause harm. Washing a porous butt plug with soap and water or using a sex toy cleaner is the way to go with these toys, but you need to be extra diligent. Create a thick lather and wash the entire butt plug with it, and rinse it thoroughly. You can also use a disinfecting solution like a 5% bleach solution or 3% hydrogen peroxide to ensure you get a clean toy. However, we recommend you always use a condom with a butt plug made from porous materials, as the condom will protect the porous material from getting in contact with bacteria or other residue. How to Store Clean Butt Plugs? After you clean your butt plug, you need to store it in a clean, safe place. We recommend you use a proper sex toy storage bag to store your clean butt plug and ensure it will always be ready for you. Also, storing it in a safe, clean place will protect it from getting into contact with dirt or other sex toys, so when you feel in the mood to use your butt plug, you can simply rinse it with water, and it will be ready to go. Shop Sex Toy Cleaners ===COLLECTION=== Boil & Sterilize Sex Toys Boiling is an excellent way to deep-clean sex toys, but this only works on non-motorized glass, metal, and silicone sex toys. Before you boil an anal sex toy, you need to wipe it or wash it to remove all residue, and then you can lower it in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes. Have tongs handy, as the toy will be very hot, and you need to leave it to cool down and air dry. For more info, please check out our complete guide on how to boil sex toys. Wash in Dishwasher Washing your anal sex toys in the dishwasher is a viable option only for glass, metal, and silicone sex toys. Don’t place motorized sex toys in the dishwasher, as the heat and pressure will surely damage them. For this method, rinse your toys, put them on the upper dishwasher rack without any other dishes inside, and use a fast cycle without any detergent or rinse agents, as the toys need only a few minutes to be cleaned, and the warm water will do the trick. Removing Smell from Anal Toys Sometimes, you may notice some of your anal toys like anal beads have a distinct smell to them, which may be due to improper cleaning, or the material itself. If this is the case, you must do a deep cleaning of your toy. As we noted above, you can take soap and some water, create a lather that you apply to your waterproof sex toy, and leave it on for a few hours, letting it dissolve the smelly components. Afterward, rinse it with warm water and leave it to dry; the smell should be gone. If your porous anal sex toys become smelly, we recommend you stop using them, as this means harmful bacteria and fungi have invaded the pores. Sometimes, you can use a mild bleach solution to remove the smell, but the best option is to put a condom on the sex toy before inserting it in your bum. We also advise you to practice anal douching as a way to cleanse your rectum from bacteria and residue so that you can have a more enjoyable anal play experience. Make sure you clean your butt plugs before and after every use. We advise you to use specialized sex toy storage bags for storage so you can have your butt plug ready to go when the mood strikes. Remember to have condoms handy for the times you want to experiment and wish to protect your health and your sex toys. We hope you learned how to clean your different butt plugs, and we invite you to browse our blog for more helpful information on choosing and using various sex toys. How to Peg Your Partner: Complete Beginner Guide to Pegging

by Kate Miller on Dec 18 2025
Pegging is a popular couple’s activity: it is when a woman uses a strap-on to penetrate a man anally. Exploring this type of sexy play is adventurous and exciting, and when done correctly, it can be deeply satisfying. Here, our experts prepared a detailed discussion on pegging, where we cover all the aspects and things you need, along with a guide on how to peg someone. What is Pegging? Pegging is a term used to refer to a sexual act where a straight woman uses a strap-on and anally penetrates her straight male partner. The term is a relatively new one, first used in 2001, but has now evolved to include a broader definition and includes all forms of anal sex done with a strap-on. Why Pegging Feels Good? Pegging feels good for the receiver because the anus is full of nerve endings, and when stimulated, these feel sensational. In men, the anus also has the prostate or P-spot, the walnut-sized gland that is incredibly sensitive. When stimulated, it can be profoundly pleasurable and provide next-level enhanced orgasms that men will feel in their whole bodies. Another benefit of pegging is the new dimension to your relationship, as this experience will undoubtedly bring you closer. The reversal of roles can have a profound impact on both partners and can help the relationship. Pegging has a positive impact on the pelvic floor muscles; the penetrated partner will have to learn and experience how to fully relax and control the muscles. It has a positive effect on the bowels, can help resolve hemorrhoid problems, and can even help when lifting heavy objects. How to Prepare for Pegging? Before you can do anything, you need to prepare yourself and your partner for pegging. Introduce the idea to your partner and talk things over, discussing everything beforehand. We need to outline that this is not a gay thing, but it is an activity between a male and a female partner. When you both agree, it is wise to prepare yourself before embarking on pegging. Talk with your Partner and Be Honest If you are thinking about trying pegging, be clear and open with your partner. Make sure you explain your ideas and wants, and discuss everything with your partner. It does not have to be awkward, but you need to be completely honest with your wants and desires. Use an Anal Trainer Using an anal trainer to prepare for pegging is essential, as it will help your body relax and get used to the intrusion of something entering your anus. There are slim anal trainers that are perfect for beginners in anal play that you can use to train your body for something bigger. While it is not mandatroy, you can do an anal douche before partaking in any kind of anal play, just to make sure everything is clean and you can be more comfortable. Get a Pegging Dildo & Strap-On Before you move to pegging, you need to purchase the right equipment. We are, of course, talking about a pegging dildo. You can wear a strap-on dildo with a harness or a strapless strap-on and penetrate your male partner. When selecting a pegging strap-on, you need to get a strap-on harness that will fit the wearer and a pegging dildo that will appeal to the receiver. The pegging dildos are slim and designed to hit the P-spot perfectly. When you get the strap-on harness, make sure you wear it for a while to get used to the weight and movements. Shop Pegging Dildos & Strap-Ons ===COLLECTION=== Get Compatible Lube Always use lube when pegging, and make sure you stock up on lube that is compatible with the pegging dildo you’ve chosen. Most quality pegging dildos are made from silicone, which, unfortunately, is not compatible with silicone lube. Instead, you must use a silicone toy with a water-based lube, so be careful when making a purchase. You can also use a condom over the pegging dildo, and you can use a silicone-based lube with it, as the silicone lube is slick and long-lasting, and it does not dry out, unlike water-based lube that will dry out, and you’ll need to reapply it. How to Peg Someone? After you discuss and agree on everything with your partner and you stock up on the pegging essentials like a pegging dildo, strap-on harness, and compatible lube, here is a guide on how to peg your partner: Lengthy foreplay – take your time with foreplay, and get in the mood to play. Put on some sexy music that puts you both in the groove and explore your bodies, touching and kissing erogenous zones and arousing each other. Massage and anal fingering – you can move to sensual massages and take your time around their anus, massaging and exploring the perineum and anal area, allowing your partner to get used to the sensations. You can slip a finger in and have them feel the penetration. Once you both are ready, you can put on the strap-on harness with the chosen pegging dildo. Lube up well – make sure the lube is handy, and apply it to the anus and the pegging dildo. Don’t be stingy, and always add a liberal amount, as you want everything to slide in easily and comfortably for your partner. Reapply if you feel it dries out, especially if you are playing for longer. Slowly penetrate your partner – get in position and slowly penetrate your partner. Please note that the wearer can’t feel the penetration, so slow and easy does the trick. Communicate with your partner and ask them how they feel often, and if something is not feeling right, take a break and a few deep breaths and continue. Explore positions and combine sensations – after you initially penetrate your man and he gets in the groove, you can both move to explore different positions and angles of penetration, making sure you are hitting the P-spot for maximum effect. Ask your partner to masturbate while you peg them, or maybe add a pocket pussy or another male masturbator in the mix for more sensations. Clean up and aftercare – after reaching orgasmic heights, slip out the pegging dildo from the anus, being extra careful, as the tissues there are swollen and excited. Clean the anus with a warm cloth and enjoy some physical and emotional aftercare with your partner. After you know, they are okay, you can wash and sterilize the pegging dildo with an antibacterial sex toy cleaner, ensuring it will be ready for the next adventure. ===COLLECTION=== We hope our guide to pegging is helpful for any of you out there wanting to experience this profoundly satisfactory experience. We advise you to be open to new sexual experiences, and pegging is definitely such an experience, as the orgasms are extra intense and powerful, and the entire experience is almost life-changing. If you want to learn more about choosing and using different sex toys, we invite you to browse our blog, but also take a look at our sex toy store, where we carry an excellent offer of strap-ons, dildos, vibrators, prostate toys, male toys, lubes and much more. How to Use Anal Beads?

by Kate Miller on Dec 18 2025
Anal beads are an impressive sex toy (aren’t they all) that you can use to amplify your sexual pleasure and expand your sexual horizons. Often overlooked because people don’t know how to use these, anal beads don’t get the attention they deserve. But here, our experts will cover all you need to know about how to use anal beads and how you can unlock pleasure avenues you’ve not thought possible. What Are Anal Beads? Anal beads are an anal sex toy that looks like a string of beads that you insert in your anus and take out to enhance the stimulation on the anus and heighten the sensations. These are particularly effective if you take them out during an orgasm, as they can prolong the orgasm. The anal beads are made from a variety of materials and can have varying numbers of beads on them. Some models have three beads on a string, while there are advanced models with more than ten beads on them. Of course, tech advancements have been applied here as well, and now we carry vibrating beads that are highly satisfying to try. Shop Anal Beads ===COLLECTION=== How to Use Anal Beads? Using anal beads is very satisfying, but you will need to know some things before you try these. Our sex experts prepared these tips on how to use anal beads, so please read these carefully and keep them in mind when playing with such sex toys. Start with a clean bum – always prepare beforehand when engaging in any form of anal play. That includes having a bowel movement and washing your bum with soap and water. If you need to, you can do an anal douche, but this is not entirely necessary if you have a healthy body. Clean the anal beads – always wash and sterilize your sex toys before and after use with soap and warm water and sex toy cleaner. That way, you will always have clean toys that won’t require a lengthy cleaning process, but a quick rinse will do. Use lube – the anus is not self-lubricating, so lube is a must when playing with anal toys like anal beads. We recommend you get a quality water-based lube that works with all sex toy materials and all skin types. Start slowly – when inserting the anal beads into your behind, you need to start with the smallest bulb, pushing one bulb at a time. After one is in, we suggest you take a short break and then insert another, and so on, until you feel like you have enough of them. There is no rule that you have to insert the entire string in one go, so listen to your body and do what feels comfortable. Keep them in – after you insert the anal beads, you can engage in other sexy plays, like playing with a dildo or a vibrator or having vaginal sex. You can also try moving with them, taking them out, and placing them back inside to experience the sensations. The best effect is to draw them out during an orgasm, as the added stimuli on the anus will heighten the orgasmic sensations. Slowly take them out – if you have enough of wearing the anal beads, you should take them out slowly to avoid pain. Pull on the cord and take them out, one bead at a time, and if you feel discomfort, try adding some lube to ease them out. ===COLLECTION=== How to Select Anal Beads? Now that we’ve covered the main points on how to use anal beads, let’s touch upon how to select anal beads. we have covered this as length in another blog, so here are the basics on choosing anal beads: Design – the anal beads have a simple design, as these are a series of beads or bulbs with increasing sizes on a string. You can select between modes with a few or a lot of beads, vibrating models, and flexible or firm models. Material – we recommend you get anal toys like anal beads that are made from body-safe materials like silicone, stainless steel, or glass, as these are non-porous, body-safe, and effortless to clean and sterilize. Size & length – the size and length of the anal beads are essential for satisfactory play, as beginners should get smaller toys. At the same time, experienced users can enjoy larger, more extensive models. We list all the dimensions in our product descriptions, so make sure you check the dimensions before purchasing anal beads. Features – here, we are thinking about vibrations, spiraling beads, anal bead sets, a T-shaped or O-shaped base, and the like. Consider the extra features and get the ones you like best. Tips for Safe Anal Beads Use Using anal beads is not a new thing, as there is historic data placing the start of anal beads use at around the 14th century in China, which means people have been using these for ages. Before we let you go to enjoy your latest purchase, here are some tips for safe use of anal beads: Choose a suitable design – we advise beginner anal beads users to stick to models with fewer beads that have smaller sizes and won’t feel too intrusive at first. After you gain some experience, you should move on to anal beads with more beads or models with larger diameters. Vibrations are welcomed – you can get vibrating anal beads that feel even more sensational when inserted in the bum. But here, we must note that some of you may find the sensations overwhelming, so only engage the vibes after you get used to wearing the anal beads as manual toys. Safety in mind – always buy sex toys from body-safe materials like silicone, glass, or stainless steel, as these are non-porous and easy to clean. We advise you to only use water-based lube for silicone anal beads, and you can use silicone lubes for glass or stainless steel anal beads. Please note that while numbing lubes may sound appealing, these are a health risk, as you won’t feel if something goes wrong, and you can cause more harm. The Bottom Line The anal beads are exciting and pleasurable to use; you only need to know how to use them. We believe our experts covered the basics above, and you can now try anal beads with confidence. by Kate Miller on Dec 18 2025
Anal play is something a lot of couples engage in, and it is a highly pleasurable and satisfying experience. While it may not be anyone’s cup of tea, anal play is one of the best ways to get to know your body and explore your sexuality, which is where anal sex toys come in. Today, we discuss all the particulars on how to safely use anal toys, and we’ll also touch upon choosing the best toy for the sensation you want to experience and more importantly, the most important, we’ll also cover the safety aspects of using anal sex toys. What Are Anal Toys? Anal toys are sex toys that are explicitly indented for anal play. These have unique features that make them suitable for anal play, and these are a tapered shape, a flared base, and a smooth surface. They can come in different types, including butt plugs, dildos, vibrators, beads, and more. Silicone is a popular material choice for anal toys because it is soft, body-safe, hypoallergenic, and easy to clean. Rubber and plastic are other commonly used materials, but they may contain harmful chemicals. Metal and glass anal toys are sturdy and easy to clean but can be heavy and need to be handled with care. Shop All Anal Sex Toys ===COLLECTION=== How to Use Anal Toys? Now to the good part – we explain how to use anal toys. Please note that we’ll keep things more general, as we have detailed guides on how to use a specific sex toy, which you can find in our blog: Choose body-safe materials – we recommend you only use anal toys made from body-safe materials like silicone, stainless steel, and glass and avoid low-quality materials like jelly or rubber. Clean the toy and yourself – before you use any sex toy, make sure it is clean, so wash it with warm water and soap. Don’t forget your body, and thoroughly clean the anus. You can do an anal douche to rinse the rectum, but for some people, a simple shower with warm water and soap is enough. Use lube – the anus is not self-lubricating, so you need a lot of lube to make things glide easily. We recommend you use a quality water-based lube with your silicone toys, and you can use silicone lube with your metal and glass anal toys. Start with a small size toy – always start with a small anal toy like an anal training kit that is designed and optimized for beginners who are starting with anal play. It will help your body adjust to having something up the anus, and you can gradually work to get a larger size toy. Take your time – never shove the anal toy inside, but take your time and slowly insert it, giving your body enough time to get used to the sensations, relax, and enjoy the sensations. Listen to your body, and don’t push yourself beyond your comfort level. If there is pain, stop immediately. Communicate with your partner – if you engage in anal play with a partner, make sure you are open and communicate with them. Tell them how things feel and use safe words and signals that will indicate something is uncomfortable. Anal Toy Safety Tips Here are the key tips you need to know when using anal toys. Please heed these, as we want you to be safe and enjoy the experience and not cause any pain or discomfort: Choose toys with flared bases – always make sure the anal toy you choose has a sufficiently flared base that will prevent over-insertion of the toy and will provide a handle for easy handling and easy retrieval. Don’t share anal toys – we can’t stress this enough, as it is such an important point. Never share your sex toys with another person. If you decide to share them with a partner, make sure you do a deep clean and use a condom over the toy to prevent contamination with harmful bacteria. It is also essential to not use anal toys for vaginal play, and if you do this, use a condom over the toy. ===COLLECTION=== Types of Anal Toys Let’s now talk about the types of anal toys you can find in our sex toy shop, as each of these provides a unique experience and can suit different people: Anal Beads The anal beads are tiny, graduated balls strung together that are intended to be inserted into the anus and be removed slowly to provide heightened sensations. There are different ways you can use anal beads, as these provide fantastic and highly pleasurable sensations. Pros: Anal beads provide a unique and pleasurable sensation as you insert or remove each bead, leading to heightened arousal and orgasm. You can use these by yourself or with a partner and experience unmatched pleasure. Cons: Anal beads can be challenging to use solo, especially if you choose larger size anal beads. Some people find these too intense or uncomfortable. Pro Tip: Choose anal beads with gradually sized balls that make insertion and removal easier. Experiment with different speeds of insertion to find what feels best for you, and make sure you use plenty of lube and go slow to reduce discomfort. Butt Plugs The butt plugs are conical-shaped objects that are designed to be inserted and stay in the anus, providing a sense of fullness, pressure, and stretching of the anus. These come in varying sizes and have flared bases to prevent over-insertion, and you can learn more about how to use a butt plug in our guide. Pros: Anal plugs provide a satisfying feeling just by inserting them into the anus, and these don’t require any movement to stimulate you. You can wear these for prolonged periods, and experience increased sensitivity and pleasure while you engage in other sexual exploits. Cons: Some people may find anal plugs uncomfortable or too intense, especially if they are new to anal play. Additionally, they can be challenging to insert or remove and may require some practice or patience. Pro Tip: Beginners in anal play should try small butt plugs that are very comfortable; look for toys with tapered tips and flared bases, and if you need extra sensations, look for a butt plug that vibrates. Anal Dildos These are dildos that are specifically designed to be inserted into the anus. While you can use a regular dildo as an anal dildo, please note that the anal dildos are thinner and smoother and have wide bases for safe use. Pros: Anal dildos provide a more intense sense of fullness and can penetrate deeper into the anus, which some users prefer. You can use them solo or with a partner and enjoy intense sensations and pleasure. Cons: You may find anal dildos challenging to insert, especially if you get a curved or a longer model. Some people also find these too intense to use. Pro Tip: Choose an anal dildo made from a body-safe material with a shape and size that works for you. A smooth, curved dildo may be great for targeted prostate stimulation. Prostate Massagers These are anal sex toys that are designed to hit the prostate. Prostate massagers come in different shapes and sizes, and you can choose from various models that provide varying sensations. We have a complete guide on how to use a prostate massager, so make sure you check it out. Pros: Prostate massagers are a safe way to stimulate the prostate, and they provide intense pleasure and come with significant health benefits. These are also very effective in helping with erectile dysfunction and intensifying orgasm intensity. Cons: Prostate massagers are not for everyone and are not for people with prostate issues and hemorrhoids. Some people may not enjoy these and find them uncomfortable. Pro Tip: Start with a small, beginner-friendly prostate massager and work to larger or more advanced models. Experiment with different angles, pressure, and vibration settings to find what feels best. Relax and take your time, as prostate stimulation can require patience and practice to achieve maximum pleasure. Rimming Toys Rimming toys are anal toys that provide stimulation on the outer rim of the anus. While you can do this with a tongue or fingers, using a specific toy is more comfortable and safer. These use rotating beads to provide the rimming sensations. Pros: Rimming toys are a safer alternative to manual or oral rimming, as it decreases the risk of infection and injury. Cons: Rimming is not for everyone, as some find it uncomfortable. If done incorrectly, it can be a health risk. Pro Tip: Start with a small, beginner-friendly rimming toy and work up to larger or more advanced models if desired. Anal Vibrators We consider all the vibrating anal toys as anal vibrators, and here we include vibrating butt plugs, vibrating prostate massagers, vibrating anal beads, and similar toys. We have a complete guide on how to choose vibrating anal plugs, and we love these because they provide a more intense pleasure. Pros: Vibrating anal toys come in different shapes and sizes, so choose a model that best suits your needs and preferences. The vibration intensifies the sensations experienced during anal play, and these lead to more intense orgasms. Cons: Some vibrating anal toys are somewhat loud, which can be a turn-off or can be uncomfortable to use when you don’t live alone. Some of these can be challenging to clean. Pro Tip: Vibrating toys are more intense than non-vibrating toys, so use plenty of water-based lubricants to reduce friction and increase comfort. Anal Hooks The anal hooks are very effective tools that BDSM practitioners commonly use, and these are useful for stimulation and targeted sensations. These are also an effective punishment tool that is a common practice in BDSM pays. Pros: The anal hooks are great for controlling the movement of the sub and add another level of power play and dominance. You can use these in various ways and scenarios, and these are a versatile addition to any BDSM toy collection. Cons: The improper use or insertion of an anal hook can result in injury, particularly to the rectal lining or internal organs, so always handle these with care. Pro Tip: Experienced BDSM and anal players need to be open with their partners about using anal hooks. Clearly share and communicate the boundaries and use plenty of lube to reduce friction and increase comfort. Final Words Preparing correctly for anal play can reduce the risk of injury, infection, or discomfort and lead to a more enjoyable and satisfying experience. How to Clean For Anal Without a Douche?

by Kate Miller on Dec 18 2025
Anal sex and touching inside the anus is a turn-on for many, but it is also an activity many avoid because of shame and the fear of a possible mess. It is a sensitive topic for many, and the anal area is also sensitive. When it comes to touching inside the anus, the first thing many people think of is the mess that comes out, so here we’ll talk about how you can safely and cleanly go about anal play without having to do an anal douche. How to Prepare for Anal Play? Preparing for anal play is vital for your enjoyment, as it can help you calm your nerves and put you at ease. The first thing you must do is have a bowel movement – take a poop and wash well. Wash your anus from the outside and wash between the butt cheeks with soap and water, and wipe it dry. Basically, this is enough preparation for many, as you get a clean area to play with. Still, others find it lacking primarily because of the mental image of possible mess. That is why people sometimes go the extra mile and resort to doing anal douches or even complete enemas to clean the rectum and feel cleaner and better prepared for anal play. If you have a healthy digestive system, we don’t recommend you resort to a full enema, as this medical procedure can wreak havoc on your digestive system and prevent you from satisfactory anal play. Instead, you can do a short anal douche and do this with a water bottle. It helps you rinse the anus and rectum from the inside, which may put you in a better mood for anal play. Issues that Prevent Safe Anal Play An important thing regarding regular bowel movements is to have a healthy stomach and eat enough fiber, as fiber helps the body excrete waste, leaving a clean, healthy rectum. It also helps prevent constipation, as people with constipation can’t comfortably enjoy anal play. Try to increase exercise, as it can help with regular bowel movements. A problem that can occur with anal sex is when a person has hemorrhoids. These are expanded veins on the inner side of the rectum. While they are not an obstacle for anal play, they are painful to touch and could bleed if punctured. If there is anal bleeding, avoid anal sex so as not to irritate the area further. Are Anal Douches and Enemas Safe? Because some people have difficulty emptying their bowels, they resort to anal douches and even enemas. An enema requires putting warm water or a soapy liquid with medication deep inside the rectum and holding it in to clean the rectal area and force the bowels to empty faster. While performing an enema is safe, it is not recommended for daily use. The douche is a milder version of the enema, where the warm water rinses the rectum and makes you feel lighter and cleaner. After cleaning, wash the anus with warm water and rinse it well to be ready for anal play. We have covered this topic from other aspects in our gudes below, and we also carry all the necessary products for preparation and safe anal play in our sex toy store. ===COLLECTION=== Learn More With Our Anal Sex Toy Guides: How To Anal DoucheHow To Properly Stretch Your AnusHow To Use a Butt PlugHow To Use Anal ToysHow To Use Anal TrainersHow To Use an Inflatable Butt PlugHow To Use A Prostate MassagerHow To Use Aneros Prostate Massagers

How to Use a Hollow Butt Plug?

by Kate Miller on Dec 18 2025
Hollow butt plugs are a novel item, and these can be very pleasurable when used correctly. Unlike regular butt plugs, hollow butt plugs open up more possibilities, but these require some more experience and keeping note of some important facts. Experienced users already know, so here we’ll discuss the use of hollow butt plugs from a novice’s perspective. What is a Hollow Butt Plug? The hollow butt plug has a basic spade shape but has a key element – a hollow tunnel running the length of the butt plug. Hollow butt plugs are created for users who want to explore the inner side of the anus. Also, with these plugs, you can train anal stretching as there is a tunnel in which you can insert fingers or toys. We must note that you must be careful not to harm the sensitive inner parts. Hollow butt plugs are perfect for users who love and understand the possibilities of anal sex. We must know that you need some training before you can use these to the full extent. You will feel the progressive, intense, and extraordinary sensations that these toys can bring into your bedroom. Using a Hollow Butt Plug Butt plugs are used to stimulate the anus, and it brings pleasurable sensations for many. If you are a virgin regarding anal stimulation, we have to remind you to relax and use plenty of suitable lube. After inserting a butt plug for the first time, you may initially feel uncomfortable as the sensations overwhelm your body. However, as you practice, you will get used to the sensations and the fantastic stimulations many speak of. We recommend you use a beginner-size butt plug or an anal training kit if you are a novice, as it will help you get a better anal experience. But after you gain enough experience, you can get into anal exploration and use an inflatable butt plug or a hollow butt plug. Using a hollow butt plug is the same as with any other type of butt plug – you need to add a generous amount of lube to the plug and your anus; relax and slowly push the plug in until it sits comfortably against your anus. Some hollow plugs are made from silicone and have a bit of softness; there are hollow plugs made from glass or metal. We favor silicone, as we believe it is the best butt plug material for beginners, as they are softer and more accessible to insert. Still, don’t forget to use a lot of water-based lube, as the anus is not self-lubricating. Glass butt plugs and metal hollow butt plugs are firm and very smooth, and these are compatible with all lubes. ===COLLECTION=== Glass and metal hollow butt plugs can be included with hot and cold play. The glass hollow butt plugs are an excellent addition for the ones who like to explore and watch as the muscles pulsate from the arousing. Shop All Butt Plugs ===COLLECTION=== How Long to Wear a Hollow Butt Plug? Some people enjoy wearing a plug for hours, even when they are fully clothed and walk into public. No one will notice that you wear it, but we don’t recommend you wear it too long; the prolonged period of wearing a plug can irritate the anus. The butt plug has an erotically charging effect, but we must note that you should not wear a hollow butt plug for prolonged times; avoid wearing a butt plug for more than 3 hours, as it may damage your rectum. The hollow butt plug, as with every other sex toy, needs proper cleaning after use, so clean yours and store it properly to be safe every time you use it. We recommend you wash your hollow butt plug with warm soapy water, treat it with a sex toy cleaner, dry it well, and store it in a suitable sex toy storage bag to keep it safe and protected. There are so many ways you can use a butt plug, but most people limit their use to private settings. Well, let’s talk about the excitement of wearing a butt plug in public and what it can do for your pleasure, while leaving the people around you blissfully unaware. Plus, the key things to know when planning to engage in public butt plug fun. What is a Butt Plug? A butt plug is most often a conical, teardrop, or spade-like sex toy that you insert in the butt for sexual pleasure. People may use it for anal pleasure or for preparing the body for anal sex, or simply because they enjoy it. It is because the anus is full of nerve endings that, when appropriately stimulated, it will provide a deeply satisfying experience. You can find butt plugs in all shapes and sizes, some smooth and some textured, and made from silicone, metal, glass, and other materials. No matter the butt plug you opt to use, there are some things to know when you decide to wear your butt plug in public. Shop All Butt Plugs ===COLLECTION=== Wearing a Butt Plug in Public We can list so many reasons why you should wear a butt plug in public, but for many, there needs to be no reason except that it is fun and makes you feel sexy. Well, that and it feels good, making for a really long and adequate foreplay. The thrill of wearing a sex toy in public is a powerful aphrodisiac, which is why we made a list of the best discreet sex toys for women to use in public. We’ll also make a list of the best anal toys to use in public, so here we’ll outline a few reasons why you should really consider wearing a butt plug when going out in public. The first reason we can list here is roleplay. Imagine being the sexy, obedient slave to your partner and obeying their every order, which coincidentally includes wearing a butt plug when you go out. Maybe you are sitting in a fancy restaurant and squirming under your partner’s gaze with the butt plug filling your behind. BDSM games may often involve butt plug play in public, especially a vibrating butt plug with a wireless remote controller. Another reason is prolonged foreplay, which means you will be aroused and kept on the edge of an orgasm for much longer than usual. Imagine walking and feeling the butt plug stimulating your anus and thrilling your senses. The last reason why you may choose to wear a butt plug in public is that it feels naughty and exciting. Maybe you are at the gym and are doing squats or running on the treadmill, or you are out running errands or shopping for groceries; these are all instances where more adventurous people choose to wear a butt plug without anyone around them knowing. [Image of anal canal anatomy] Choose the Correct Butt Plug to Use in Public Now, to the technical stuff – you need to choose the correct butt plug for public play. Not every model can be worn in public, especially larger models with oversized bases that take effort to put in or are designed for combined use. Instead, you should look for a butt plug that has a compact design and a snug fit. If you have a loose-fitting plug, you risk losing it while on the move. Conversely, a too-tight fit may become painful and uncomfortable when worn for longer. Well, you can wear any butt plug you want, but for the most comfortable use, you should pick a butt plug that has a streamlined shape and is of a size that you can comfortably take. The butt plug should fit securely in your butt without being obtrusive or noticeable. For that reason, we recommend you get a butt plug model with a flat base that will fit in between your butt cheeks and will not hinder you in sitting, standing, or moving. Make sure the plug you choose is not overly long and has a well-rounded tip that will not poke your innards and cause more harm than good. We have a complete butt plug selection guide where we cover all this and more. As a rule of thumb, stay away from inflatable butt plugs and large butt plugs and tail butt plugs, as these are unfit for public play. Well, unless it is your thing to wear a fox, bunny, or cat tail, or you are wearing a sexy costume that requires a tail. Even if you choose a super-comfy butt plug, we advise you to be careful when sitting on it too much, as it may become uncomfortable after a while. A good practice is to pop in your preferred butt plug at home and wear it for a few hours while doing things around the house. Try sitting on soft and hard surfaces and see how your body is faring, so you can at least know what to expect when you have your behind filled with your favorite butt plug. We recommend choosing a semi-flexible butt plug with a flat base made from silicone, as it is among the most comfortable models available. The size of the butt plug you opt for depends on your experience level, but we recommend you stick to smaller models for wearing in public. Lube, Lube, Lube Lube is your best friend when it comes to anal play, so make sure to stock up on lube that is compatible with the material of your butt plug. If you use a silicone butt plug, then remember to only use a water-based lube. For metal and glass butt plugs, you can use silicone-based lube, and we advise you to stay away from oil-based lubes as these aren’t compatible with silicone toys and will most definitely stain your clothes. Please don’t be stingy with the lube, and make sure you apply enough of it when you insert it. Be careful not to use too much, as it may cause the plug to slip out of your butt. Using the right amount of lube is critical, as it will make it more comfortable for you to wear the plug for longer and be comfortable during use. ===COLLECTION=== Additional Things for Public Butt Plug Use We covered the choice of butt plug and lube, but what else do you need for safe public butt plug play? It is supportive underwear that will help the plug stay in place. You can pick some boyshorts or panties that have a snug fit and will prevent anyone from noticing that you are hiding a secret. Guys who opt to wear a butt plug or a prostate massager in public should choose supportive boxers that will keep everything where it should be. You may have to be out in public for longer than you’ve planned, and may have to take out the plug when not at home. For this reason, we recommend you take a small bottle of lube with you and have a plastic bag handy, along with a small packet of sex toy cleaner. Lube can make it easier to pop out the plug when you start to feel like it is becoming too much. The sex toy cleaner or soap and plastic bag are self-explanatory, as you will need to wash and store the plug when you are done with it. Remember to Stay Safe We get it, it is sexy and enticing to wear a butt plug in public and experience the joy of anal pleasure without anyone around you being the wiser. However, when you start experiencing discomfort, find the nearest bathroom and take out the plug. Take a few minutes to let your body relax, and if you feel like you can take more, reapply some lube and place it back inside. If you think it’s getting too much, simply remove the plug, wash it, and slip it back in the bag. We must also remind you that if you feel you need to pee, then you must take the plug out, as it will mess up the sensations in your bladder. After you take care of business, you can slip the butt plug right back in. To Wrap Up That’s it for now; we hope we covered the basics of wearing a butt plug in public and you’ll find yourself inspired enough to give this sexy play a try.
